Do you know what beatles song this is?

I don't know if its a beatles song but if its not then its by a similar band and around the same time. It was a really catchy song and it was about the war... i remember some words saying something like "you cant expect people to pay for what they don't believe" (i could be way off though). it wasn't symbolic but pretty Straight forward. Do you have any ideas? thanks.
