My Dell inspirion 4000 startup repair?

I opened up my dell inspirion by taking off the speaker cover and unscrewing the keyboard. I was having trouble with my mouse pad so i unplugged that cable and replugged it in. i put everything together again but now it wont start and it has to run start up repair which hasnt been doing anything for 10 minutes. Is it broken???
