Where can kids join animal volunteering?

This summer I want to volunteer helping animals for free. I like to help any animals but i prefer small ones, but big one like snakes or alligators is okay also. I want it to be no money cost. Usually parents have to come and stay with the kids but my parents don't have the time, so i need a place where it can be just me. I want a place in Altoona, PA, or 5-7 miles from Altoona. I want it to have a training program before i start. Please help me find a place. Not the humane Society. Thanks :-)
